Gup Duba provided the following account of this medicinal water. While Guru Rinpoche was travelling from Gorgoen Dzasep Ney to Phobjikha, he looked at Ngakthudra cliff from Tshelela Mountain Pass ; so as to benefit the people ,who get sick due to the agitation of the four elements ,Guru Rinpoche revealed this Medicinal water by inserting his fringer into the cliff. The locals say that a footprint of Guru Rinpoche which could be seen distinctly earlier was destroyed during the road construction; however, the Dakinis Yoni and a footprint of the Kunkhyen Longchen Rabjam‘s mount can still be seen. According to one oral tradition, this Medicinal water was revealed by Guru Rinpoche while he lived inside the cave above the Medicinal water.
Benefits of Menchu
It has the some healing properties as waters. In particular, it can heal contaminations taint, diseases of blood and wounds from weapons. One thing that is special to curing water source is that you have to soak in cold water (without using heated stones) weather it is in summer or in winter . Although there was a wooden tub for soaking in using heated stones like any other medicinal water, it has not been restored after it fell to pieces. All medicinal spring water are perceived to have good curing health benefits. Either by drinking or soaking or both, it is believed to help in blood circulation, joint paints, heal skin problems, reduce stress, sleep well, maintain healthy body weight.
According to the 51years old Ap Gangtru there is a stupa of natural rock on the side of a cliff as you go through the bushes on the right side of the Medicinal water. He (Ap Gangtru ) recounted spotting something like a small bowl of red rice in front of three white rocks appearing like blocks ice with middle one taller than the right and left ones inside the cave, which can be seen from alfar,as you go further up. When he reached near the cave ,a white into cave and after a while clouds of smoke billowed from the cave. He was sacred stiff and could not really recognized what those things were.
It is only about 40 minutes walk from Zizi village and the drive to Zizi village has one of the best views and the landscape is simply amazing.
