On Feb 5, 2022, Majestic Punakha Dzong is covered by a blanket of snow on the auspicious occasion of HRH the Gyelsay’s 6th birth anniversary. It is shared that Punakha received snowfall over 6 decades ago during Je Ngawang Thinley’s (1940-1946) time. It is a very auspicious sign that Punakha received its first snowfall after 69 years coinciding with the 6th Birth Anniversary of His Royal Highness Gyelsay Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck. We believe that this signifies great leadership of HRH the Gyelsay in the future.

Kurims for His Royal Highness the Gyalsay are ongoing in the Pung-Thim Dratshang, 18 Rabdeys, and Shedras/Lobdras of the Zhung Dratshang. We pray that HRH’s wisdom activities/aspirations be swiftly realized.

May there be auspiciousness in the entire world in general and particularly in the country of the glorious dragon - Palden Drukpa. In these times of pandemic, the best method of prevention is lockdown. The snowfall has come as a supporting companion in the most challenging times for the government.

The snow covering the landscape of the great blissful place of Pungthangkha is like a messenger of the deities of the three roots - (Lama, Yidam and Khandro ) heralding the pacification of the pandemic.

How amazing is this auspicious Tendrel! Just as the entire mountains are cladded by snow, so is the truth of genuine compassion of Their Majesties the Kings, for everlasting Peace and Happiness to prevail.
